I know there are improvements on the horizon already, but I thought I would throw this out there anyway.

I have been playing a game called "Silk Road Online" a bit lately. It's an MMORPG, and I think one feature of their trade system could be adapted for Guild Wars.

In Silk Road, you can click a button that opens up a market stall where you stand. Basically, it just looks like your character standing on a little podium. Anyways, you just create this stall, enter the name of the shop (this displays above your character's head), drag in the items you wish to sell, and and set the prices. You cna leave this stall open for as long as as you want, and for people to see what you've got, they need only click on you.

With this system, we can have the stores people always ask for, and the easy of trade that auction houses would provide, with a minimum of chat spamming by sales people.

I think Guild Wars adopting this system would be a great improvement. I guess I'll see what you will be rolling out in the next few weeks, but this is just something to chew on.

I've seen this sort of system in another game, and I'm afraid of what could happen if it's implemented in GW.

Towns would fill with people who set up stores and go afk...lag would reign supreme...anarchy would follow.

No,i don't like this. I also saw this in a previoyus game(pristontale?) and it ruined the cities TOTALLY! The only,and best, solution is an auction house like WoW.

I agree that auction houses remain the best solution, and I cant wait till they get introduced.

This really would encourage people to go AFK with their character logged in. It would then clog up some districts beyond usefulness. With the way cities are set-up this wouldn't work very well either. Something that allows you to sell across districts is what is really needed.
